Hotel Circular Economy: Transforming Waste into Resources
We promote a pioneering model of hotel circular economy that transforms textiles used in the sector for new products, incorporating at least 20% of post-consumer hotel textile material in the new production process.
In view of the new textile waste regulations that will come into force in the EU in 2027, we have been the first company in the hotel textile sector to be part of the largest textile SCRAP in Spain, RE-VISTE, reinforcing our commitment to our customers to provide hotels with responsible, efficient management aligned with future regulations.
Pioneering circular economy project
We have developed a project together with the CDTI of R+D+i for three years, implementing a pioneering model worldwide. A Hotel Circular Economy capable of giving a second life to textiles previously used in hotels after industrial use.
Real recycling applied to the sector
We have collected, transformed and reused textile waste, incorporating a minimum of 20% of post-consumer material into the manufacturing process. This advance represents a relevant technical challenge in terms of collection, transport, classification and quality, especially as they are textiles previously used and subjected to industrial washing.
The challenge of post-consumer textiles
The aim has been to ensure that the new product maintains the required quality levels in terms of durability, washing behaviour and consistency in finish, key aspects in the daily operations of our hotel customers.
Direct impact on the hotel
This initiative allows establishments to transform an everyday gesture into an action with real impact. Each textile garment is integrated into a circular model that reduces environmental impact, responds to new guest demands and facilitates compliance with environmental certifications.
Vita Collection
From waste to resource. VITA was born from our circular economy model to turn hotel textiles into new sustainable, functional and customizable products, designed to accompany hotels in a more responsible way of consuming and managing their textiles.
What is a SCRAP? What is RE-VISTE?
SCRAP is a collective system of extended producer responsibility, essential to ensure proper waste management and promote the circular economy.
At Resuinsa we have been the first textile company in the hotel sector to join SCRAP RE-VISTE, the first created in Spain in a voluntary period. We provide the system with the vision of the hotel sector, contributing with key aspects such as the hotel collection model, logistics circuits or the definition of the ecotax, with the aim of minimising the economic impact on the customer.
Promoted by companies such as Inditex, Mango, El Corte Inglés, Ikea, H&M, Decathlon, Kiabi, Sprinter, JD Sports, Mayoral, Carrefour and Primark, the incorporation of Resuinsa as a benchmark in hotel sustainability brings a strategic vision to the circular economy ecosystem.
From Resuinsa we invite more companies in the sector to join this initiative to help them in this complex management.
